You must be a first time woman investor living on the island of Ireland (North or South)

Your annual membership fee and transaction fee on your first investment will be covered by our partners British Business Bank and Intertrade Ireland.

For the AwakenAngels Syndicate to invest the founder must hold a minimum of 20% of the equity in the business and the founder must be listed on the cap table.

The company must be located and registered on the island of Ireland.

We will review startups at Pre-Seed & Seed stage across all sectors.

Our pitches are submitted by individual entrepreneurs with registered companies on the island of Ireland from our AwakenClub private founders community, our SheGenerate accelerator programme and from our networks and partners across the island of Ireland.

No, you can make an investment at any stage while undertaking the training.

Our training academy has been developed to support you to ‘learn by doing’

We will request that all new angels complete the AwakenAngels Academy training modules to gain a robust understanding of the process.

More seasoned investors can choose what training to access as and when needed.

Deals will be curated from the AwakenHub community. An initial screening of the company will be undertaken by trusted deal leaders via the AwakenAngels platform.

Entrepreneurs will be invited to pitch to the AwakenAngels community.

At the pitch event the community pledges an expression of intent to invest.

We then enter due diligence led by the nominated deal leader with input from the community.

Following due diligence there will be an investment vote and we will enter into the syndication process to conclude the investment

AwakenAngels will complete a comprehensive due diligence review. Once the community has agreed in principle to move forward with an investment, a deal leader will be assigned who will also be the startup’s point of contact.

The due diligence will review the following aspects - Evaluation of Business Plan and Financials, Management Team Assessment, Market and Competitive Analysis, Technical and Product Evaluation, Legal and Compliance Review, Financial Analysis and Risk Assessment and Mitigation.

After completing the due diligence process, the syndicate members discuss the opportunity and make a collective investment decision.

If the decision is to proceed, they negotiate the investment terms, including the amount of investment, valuation, shareholder rights, and any specific conditions or milestones.

The Deal Leader will the main point of contact with the founder but the AwakenAngels community is here to provide any additional support requested by the founder.

There is no explicit ask of our AwakenAngels investors but there will be opportunity for potential board representation, mentorship opportunities and many value-add activities you can contribute to the portfolio companies should you wish.

We will bring new investment opportunities to our community monthly which will be curated from our AwakenHub Community and extended network on the island of Ireland.

We will communicate monthly via our AwakenAngels newsletter and bimonthly to give updates on portfolio companies to vested angels and opportunities for syndicate members to interact and collaborate.

Ticket and funding round sizes vary depending on the needs and desires of the entrepreneur. We have clients looking to raise funds ranging from 10k to 150k.

Minimum investment per angel in the syndicate per deal is £2k upwards.

We do not share your name or contact information with anyone except entrepreneurs you choose to connect with. Connections with entrepreneurs are made completely on your terms so your details are private until you decide to connect with a particular entrepreneur.

As a member of the syndicate you will be part of a private online community with fellow angel investors and choose to engage as you wish.
